Bill James

Bill's work passions include database movement and data operations efficiency and is ecstatic to be a member of Candid’s data integration team. He has been working in database management and maintenance for over 25 years. After graduating with a B.A. from the College of William and Mary, he started as a QA and Support manager at a fundraising software development company in Williamsburg, Virginia. He held several database administration and development positions in the Richmond area before taking an IT Manager position at a design company local to Williamsburg.

After a few years as an IT Manager, he joined GuideStar as a database administrator. After a little more than a year, Bill left GuideStar when a friend called him with an opportunity to lead the IT staff of a Fiber Optic cable manufacturer in Roanoke, Virginia. After 2 years as the cable manufacturer’s IT Director, Bill led data operations for a computer manufacturer, and Chief Data Architect for a night vision goggle manufacturer. His last endeavor before rejoining GuideStar was with IBM contracted to U.S. Army.

In 2014, he rejoined GuideStar’s ranks as a remote employee after an 8-year hiatus and has not looked back since.
