Babak Ghorbani

Babak Ghorbani, Ph.D., is an experienced machine learning engineer currently at Cannabix Technologies Inc., where leadership in the design and implementation of end-to-end machine learning pipelines contributed to the launch of the Cannabix Breathalyzer V. 4. Prior roles include serving as a senior scientist and software engineer at Ballard Power Systems, where software for automating data analysis was developed for non-technical users. Babak's academic experience includes a research associate position at Simon Fraser University, focusing on fuel cell technology and machine learning applications, along with roles as a teaching assistant. Babak holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Simon Fraser University, a Master's degree from the University of Tehran, and a Bachelor's degree also from the University of Tehran. Research interests encompass fuel cells, energy-efficient thermal management, and numerical modeling.
