Lee-Ann Unger is a seasoned environmental and campaign strategist with extensive experience in forest conservation and sustainable supply chains. Currently serving as a Senior Corporate Campaigner at CanopyPlanet since January 2018, Lee-Ann leads impactful initiatives with major global brands, notably the successful Pack4Good campaign, which raised awareness about the ecological implications of paper packaging. Prior to Canopy, Lee-Ann was a Campaign Manager for the Clayoquot Sound Conservation Alliance, collaborating with leading environmental organizations to protect significant forest ecosystems. Additionally, Lee-Ann contributed as a Manager and Senior Researcher at the Borealis Centre for Environment & Trade Research, focusing on developing research methodologies for environmental campaigns, and co-founded the Coastal Animal Rescue & Education Network, promoting animal welfare in Indigenous communities through a relationship-based approach.

Canopy’s approach focuses on creating solutions and working together with the largest buyers of pulp and paper products to achieve a much greater impact. We understand that business leaders can be powerful forces for environmental change. We work with companies to craft sustainable purchasing guidelines and with partners to develop permanent and systemic solutions that protect forests. Started over a decade ago as Markets Initiatives, Canopy has grown and attracted a group of passionate environmental and social justice activists.
