Eva Koetsier has extensive work experience in the medical field. Eva began their career in 2001 as a Legal Counsel at Boekel De Nerée N.V. Eva then transitioned to the medical field and worked as an Anesthesiology Resident at VU University Medical Center from 2006 to 2011. Following this, they completed a Fellowship in Pain Medicine and worked as an Anesthesiologist at OLVG from 2011 to 2013. Koetsier then joined Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) in 2013, where they served as a Pain Specialist and Senior Consultant, and later became the Head of Research at the Pain Management Center of Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland. In 2019, they also became the owner of Agriturismo Voeuja Lago Maggiore. In 2021, they took on the role of Privat Dozent at USI Università della Svizzera italiana and became a Co-Section Editor at World Institute of Pain. Additionally, they worked as a Columnist for Nederlandse Vereniging voor Anesthesiologie from 2010 to 2016.

Eva Koetsier has an extensive education history. Eva first attended the Barlaeus Gymnasium but the exact dates are unknown. From 1995 to 2001, they studied at the University of Amsterdam and obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Law. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from 1999 to 2005 at the same university.

After completing their medical degree, Eva attended the VUmc School of Medical Sciences, where they specialized in Anesthesiology. Their time at this institution lasted until 2011. In 2017, they enrolled at Maastricht University and successfully completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.

Aside from their formal education, Eva has also obtained several certifications. In 2013, they became a certified Pain Physician through OLVG, and they later obtained multiple certifications in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) at the Investigator and Sponsor-Investigator levels from the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) in various years, including 2015 and 2019. In November 2020, they completed the "Teach the teacher" program at USI Università della Svizzera italiana. Furthermore, in June 2023, they are planning to attend the New Female Leaders Accelerator program.
