Cphr Catherine Gordon

Catherine Gordon, CPHR, SHRM-SCP, has extensive experience in various HR roles. Catherine is currently serving as the Director of People & Culture at Canuck Place Children's Hospice since September 2018. In this role, they collaborate with the senior leadership team to implement HR strategies and frameworks, advises leaders on various HR issues, manages compensation and benefits programs, and oversees performance management and employee relations.

Prior to their current position, Catherine worked as a GROW Member at Hacking HR since March 2020. Before that, they served as the HR Director at the David Suzuki Foundation from January 2012 to August 2018. In this role, they led HR strategy and initiatives and championed diversity and inclusion programs. Catherine also established partnerships with various organizations and advocated for indigenous staff and partners.

Catherine obtained their CPHR (Chartered Professionals in Human Resources) certification in February 2006 from CPHR BC & Yukon. In December 2018, they also completed and obtained the SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management - Senior Certified Professional) certification from the SHRM Certification institution.

Throughout their career, Catherine has pursued further education and obtained several certificates. In 2023, they enrolled in the Mindful Employer's Psychologically Safe Leader Method certification program, which focuses on advancing psychologically safe work environments. Catherine also completed a Certificate Program in Disability Management from Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences between 2021 and 2023.
