Kara Hinesley

Kara Hinesley has a strong background in public policy and government affairs. Kara currently serves as the Head of Global Public Policy at Canva, starting in November 2022. Prior to that, they held several roles at Twitter, including Director of Public Policy, APAC from January 2022 to November 2022, Director of Public Policy, ANZ from February 2020 to January 2022, and Head of Public Policy, Australia and New Zealand from August 2016 to January 2020. Before joining Twitter, Kara worked as an Adviser at the Australian Federal Government from February 2012 to August 2016. Kara also briefly served as a Policy Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (NSW) in 2016. Kara began their career as a Law Clerk at the Connecticut Judicial Branch from August 2010 to August 2011.

Kara Hinesley has a Master of Laws degree from The Australian National University, a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English from Texas A&M University. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Executive Management from UCLA Anderson School of Management in March 2021 and in Leading and Managing Globally from Yale School of Management in October 2020.
