James Brede

Director of Army Programs at Canvas

James Brede is the Director of Army Programs at Canvas. Prior to joining Canvas, James served as the Contract Program Manager and Business Development Lead at Cline-Morin Associates, Inc. from January 2008 to March 2015. In this role, James was responsible for day-to-day business development activities including opportunity development and tracking, serving as a proposal team lead, forging strategic business partnerships, proposal writing, proposal costing, and marketing. James also directly coordinated strategic business partnerships to include subcontracting and prime contract opportunities with the companies CEO and COO daily.

As a Program Manager, James supported several government initiatives including Competitive Sourcing Programs, Military to Civilian Conversion programs, Post Competition Accountability programs, In-sourcing cost analysis, Manpower analysis, Business Process Reengineering, Acquisition Support Services, Facilitation, and Training Services. James provided program management on multiple prime contracts and task orders supporting Navy, Army, Missile Defense Agency, Army Corp of Engineers, Department of Energy, Department of Interior, and Veterans Administration initiatives.

James has a long history of supporting government initiatives and is dedicated to their work. James is an expert in their field and is well-respected by their peers. James is a valuable asset to any team and is committed to ensuring the success of any project they are a part of.

James Brede's educational career includes studying political science and sociology at Western Washington University, where they also minored in English. James later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Florida Institute of Technology. In addition, they hold a certification from the Project Management Institute as a Program Management Professional (PgMP).

James Brede works with Emily Mason - Director of Biotechnology, Andrew Melton - Director of Business Development, and Tom Williams - Director of Space Programs. Their manager is Jami Peyton, CEO.
