Dr. Hinrich Thölken

Dr. Hinrich Thölken currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Sustainability Lead for Northern and Central Europe at Capgemini, a role held since October 2022. Prior to this, Dr. Thölken held several significant positions within the German Foreign Office, including Ambassador and Special Advisor on International Climate and Energy Policy from July 2020 to October 2022, and Special Envoy for Digitalization and Digital Transformation from August 2018 to July 2020. Dr. Thölken's diplomatic career also includes expertise in climate diplomacy and transboundary water cooperation, demonstrated during tenure as Head of the Economic Division at the German Embassy in Paris and as a career diplomat. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Heidelberg University and completion of the Foreign Service Examination at the German Foreign Service Academy.
