James Payton

James Payton has an extensive background in operations management within the transportation and environmental sectors. Currently serving as the Interim Chief Operations Officer at Capital Area Transit System (CATS) since July 2014, James has held various leadership positions including Director of Maintenance and Director of Operations. Prior to CATS, James worked as a Project Manager at Clean Harbors from April 2009 to March 2014 and held the role of Operations Manager at Catalyst Technology from August 1994 to April 2009. James furthered education at Louisiana State University in 2005 and pursued continuing education at LSU from 1994 to 1995.
