Chief Asia Economist at Capital Economics

Mark Williams is an experienced economist with a strong focus on Asian markets, particularly China. Currently serving as Chief Asia Economist at Capital Economics since March 2007, Mark leads a team of macroeconomists analyzing economic developments across Asia and their global implications. Prior to this role, Mark was an Economist at Capital Economics, specializing in China. Mark also worked as an Economist at HM Treasury from July 2005 to February 2007, where responsibilities included providing policy and economic advice related to Asia and managing relationships with finance ministries in the region. Mark holds an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and an MA in Chinese from The University of Edinburgh.
