Stephen Brown

Stephen Brown is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in analyzing North American and European economies. Currently serving as the Deputy Chief North America Economist at Capital Economics since February 2014, Stephen has dual responsibilities for the US and Canadian economies. Notably, Stephen received the Best Overall Forecaster for Canada award in 2021 from Refinitiv Eikon, Consensus Economics, and Focus Economics while holding the title of Senior Canada Economist. Previous roles include providing forecasts and analysis for the euro-zone and individual European economies, as well as research positions at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH and HSBC. Stephen's academic credentials include an MSc in Economic History from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Bath.
