Caitlyn Vernon currently serves as the Manager of First Nations Relations at Capital Regional District since March 2021. Previously, Caitlyn held various positions at Sierra Club BC from 2007 to February 2021, including Campaigns Director and Campaigner, First Nations Outreach Coordinator. Earlier roles include Development and Communications Coordinator at the Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre, Graduate Assistant in Communications at the Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean, and Community Resource Stewardship Program Coordinator at Falls Brook Centre. Other experiences encompass positions as Forest Certification Coordinator at the Forest Stewardship Council, Oceans Project Coordinator at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Resource Technician at Acer Resource Consulting, and Entomology Assistant with the BC Public Service. Caitlyn earned a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from York University (2004-2006) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University (1993-1998).
