Jacquie O'Brien has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources. Jacquie started their career in 2003 at Finning (Canada), where they held various positions in human resources until 2009. In 2009, they joined CEDA International Corporation as the Manager of HR Services Canada, and later became the Director of Human Resources, Canada in 2012. In 2016, they joined Capital Power as a Talent Management Consultant, and then served as the Manager of Recruitment & Organizational Development from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Manager of Talent Acquisition & People Development at Capital Power.

Jacquie O'Brien holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Human Resources from the University of Alberta, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. In the year 2009, they also obtained the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) certification from the Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA). In 2019 and 2020, Jacquie pursued Executive Coaching studies at Royal Roads University. Jacquie further augmented their qualifications by obtaining the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) certification from the International Coaching Federation in May 2021.
