Frank Hayward has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Frank began their career in 1988 as a Shift Supervisor at Viking Energy Services and worked there until 1990. Frank then joined Consumers Energy in 1990 and held various positions, including Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, and later on, focusing on Environmental Projects. Frank joined EPCOR in 2008 as a Maintenance Manager until 2011, when they moved to Capital Power. At Capital Power, they served as a Plant Manager until 2018, when they were promoted to General Manager. Currently, Frank holds the position of Operations Manager at Capital Power.

Frank Hayward has a diverse education history. Frank first attended the Great Lakes Maratime Academy from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a degree as a Licensed Engineer in Unlimited Horse Power Steam, Diesel, and Gas Turbine in the field of Marine Engineering. Following this, they enrolled in Baker College of Cadillac from 1993 to 1995 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. In 2011, Frank pursued a Certificate Program in Wind Professional from California State University-East Bay, specializing in the field of Wind Energy. Lastly, in 2013, they attended California Wind Tech to gain a Certificate in Wind Turbine Technician. The end year for this latest certificate is not provided, suggesting that they may still be pursuing or using this qualification.
