Daniela Arruda Costa's work experience begins in 2004 at Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto, where they held scientific initiation and research scholarships. Daniela'sprimary responsibilities included analyzing global gene expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae using DNA microarrays. Daniela conducted various tasks, such as cell growth, RNA extraction, production and quantification of cDNA microarray, and data analysis. Daniela's work in this role lasted from August 2004 to July 2006.
In 2007, Daniela continued their research at Universidade Federal de Viçosa as a technological and industrial development scholarship holder. Daniela was responsible for the production and purification of recombinant proteins in trypanosomatids and conducted research activities in molecular biology and biochemistry. These activities included DNA extraction, molecular cloning, enzymatic activity, immunoblots, and data search in biological databases. Daniela worked in this role from January 2007 to April 2008.
From May 2008 to February 2009, Daniela worked at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais as a technological and industrial development scholarship holder. Here, their responsibilities involved the production and purification of recombinant proteins and the development of a potential vaccine against schistosomiasis. Daniela conducted research activities in molecular biology and immunology, including DNA extraction, molecular cloning, RNA extraction, enzymatic activity, and immunoblots.
In 2009, Daniela returned to Universidade Federal de Viçosa, this time as a PHD student. Daniela worked in this role from March 2009 to July 2015, during which they also held the position of Master Student from March 2009 to February 2011.
From October 2015 to September 2016, Daniela acted as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais.
Beginning in October 2016, Daniela joined GlobalYeast, a Brazilian-Belgian biotechnology startup, as a Senior Scientist. During their tenure, they focused on developing and deploying products and solutions for the first and second generation bio-ethanol industry and green chemicals. Daniela'smain project involved the development of superior industrial yeast strains for the fermentation industry according to clients' needs. Daniela held this role until May 2018.
Lastly, Daniela's most recent work experience is at Capricorn Partners. Daniela began as an Investment Analyst in July 2018 and later transitioned to the role of Investment Associate in February 2021. Daniela'sresponsibilities in these positions are ongoing.
Daniela Arruda Costa has an extensive education history. Daniela earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Agricultural Microbiology from Universidade Federal de Viçosa, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained their Master's Degree in Biotechnology from UFOP - Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto, completing their studies from 2009 to 2011.
In 2007, Daniela pursued a brief program at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where they earned a graduate degree in Bioinformatics. Additionally, from 2002 to 2006, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at UFOP - Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto.
To further enhance their skillset, Daniela also obtained a certification in Financial Analysis for Non-Financial Managers from INSEAD in September 2020.
