James Boyd has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. James started their career at USU Parking and Transportation as a Driver from 2003 to 2006. James then worked as an Account Executive at Six Flags Over Georgia from 2006 to 2007. Following that, James served as a Training Coordinator at Atlanta Postal Credit Union from 2007 to 2008.

In 2008, they joined USU Charter Credit Union and held various roles, including Director of Information and Training from 2008 to 2011, Director of Sales from 2011 to 2012, and VP of Marketing from 2012 to 2013.

In 2014, James began working at CAPSA- Citizens against physical and sexual abuse as the Chief Development and Marketing Officer. Their responsibilities included fundraising, donor relationships, community engagement, marketing, social media, event planning, communication, public relations, and website management. During their tenure, they consistently exceeded fundraising goals, leading to significant growth and expansion of CAPSA's workforce from 25 employees to over 70.

After their time at CAPSA, James briefly worked as a Senior Instructional Designer / Corporate Trainer at Harris Research, Inc. in 2014.

James Boyd has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Utah State University, which they completed between 2003 and 2006. James also holds a Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology from Utah State University, earned from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Boyd received a General Studies degree in Communications from Brigham Young University - Idaho from 2001 to 2003. James obtained the Credit Union Certified Marketing Executive degree from CUNA Marketing Management School, specializing in Marketing, between 2012 and 2014. Furthermore, Boyd has received a certification in Leading with Emotional Intelligence from LinkedIn, completed in 2018.
