Fernando Garcia Lazaro

Fernando Garcia Lazaro has extensive work experience in finance and leadership roles spanning various industries. Fernando is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Capstone Copper since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of CFO and Board Member of Bupa Chile and Bupa Seguros from 2018 to 2022, where they managed finance, accounting, business planning, internal control, tax, and supply chain functions. Before that, Fernando worked as Special Projects - Finance at Barrick Gold Corporation in 2018, overseeing strategic and financial planning, joint venture coordination, and capital investments.

Additionally, they have experience as a co-founder and director of IN WINE, a digital platform for e-commerce, where they managed various aspects of the business, including commercial relations, digital marketing, logistics, and distribution channels. Fernando also held financial leadership roles at Grupo Antofagasta Minerals, Kinross Gold Corporation, Glencore, McEwen Mining Inc., Hochschild Mining, and Techint Group, gaining valuable experience in financial management, planning, and project evaluation.

Fernando Garcia Lazaro completed their MBA in Finance & Strategy at The Wharton School from 2001 to 2003. Fernando participated in the CFO's Executive Program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2013. Additionally, they received a degree in Business Administration (Lic. en Administración) from the University of Buenos Aires from 1998 to 1999 and a degree in CPA - (Contador Público) during their time at the University of Buenos Aires from 1992 to 1997.
