James Paterson

James Paterson has had a diverse range of roles in the finance industry. James currently holds the position of Director, Finance at Capstone Copper, which they began in 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Board And Finance Committee member at Stratford Hall from 2021 to 2022. James previously worked at Capstone Mining, where they held various roles including Director, Finance from 2021 to 2022, Director, Financial Planning & Analysis from 2017 to 2021, Manager, Financial Reporting from 2015 to 2017, and Interim Corporate Controller from 2014 to 2015. James began their career at PwC, where they worked as a Manager from 2005 to 2015.

James Paterson completed an executive education program focused on leadership at the Smith School of Business at Queen's University in 2019. James holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems from the University of Canterbury, which they obtained in 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree from the same university in 2003. In 2009, Paterson obtained the certification of Chartered Accountant from the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
