Andy Allin has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Andy started their career in 1984 as a Trainee Programmer at Rumbelows, where they worked with COBOL. Andy then moved to Security Pacific National Bank (later Bank of America) in London, where they primarily used COBOL, AIMS, and INGRES. Andy also gained experience in early data mining using Netmap through consultancy work.

After a break caring for their mother, Andy re-entered the IT field in 2017, focusing on Golang and finance. Andy worked in this role until 2019. During this time, they developed Golang microservices for delivery logistics using technologies such as Postgres, Mongo, Sendgrid, LocationIQ, Google geocoding, Sentry, Heroku, and Git.

In 2019, Andy joined Captain AI as a Contract Golang Developer, working remotely and continuing their focus on delivery logistics. Their responsibilities included writing Golang microservices and utilizing various technologies.

In 2021, Andy progressed to the role of Head of Partnerships at Captain.ai, demonstrating their growth and expertise within the company.

Andy Allin attended Newcastle University from 1981 to 1984. Andy earned a B.Sc. degree in General Science during this time.
