Alireza Shafaei

Alireza Shafaei is an accomplished machine learning expert, currently serving as the Director of Machine Learning at Captura since January 2024. Prior to this role, Alireza held similar positions at ImageQuix and co-founded Skylab Technologies Inc., where significant achievements included the design of a global-scale image processing pipeline and the deployment of innovative features in machine learning products. Alireza has also contributed to academia as a Graduate Research Assistant and Sessional Lecturer at The University of British Columbia, teaching various courses on machine learning and algorithms. Alireza's educational background includes a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Machine Learning and Computer Vision from The University of British Columbia, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
