Derek Bullard is a backend software engineer who currently works at CapWay. Derek has previous experience working as a backend software engineer at Kiva, where they integrated Kafka to NestJS to improve wallet creation time by 3x and to maintain a stable db connection to our users in remote countries. Derek also designed and developed reusable UI components using Vue.js and developed change adaptive form logic in Javascript to estimate user savings based on a given service. Derek has also worked as a lead product developer at Squish LLC and as a software developer at Kalektronics.

Derek Bullard received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University. Derek then attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School for their education. After high school, they received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Salisbury University.

Their manager is Dondrey Taylor, CTO. They are on a team with Allison Higgins - Full Stack Engineer, Christopher Herrington - Fullstack Web Developer, and Ryan Prince - Lead iOS Developer.
