Marc A. Ross is a global business advisor and communications strategist working at the intersection of globalization, disruption, and politics.

Marc specializes in business advisory, market intelligence, strategic planning, and communications.

Marc has worked on a wide range of assignments, acts as a senior consultant on many of the firm’s retained accounts, and takes an active role in special project work.

He has extensive experience in thought leadership, public affairs, and global communications for trade associations as well as leading the advocacy operations, fundraising programs, and marketing efforts for corporates, nonprofits, and political campaigns, many for the highest offices in the United States and the United Kingdom as well as US-China commercial relations.

Ross' communications work includes serving as a spokesperson and primary media liaison for engagements with top-tier global media outlets, reporters, columnists, editors, producers, and thought leaders based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia as well as accountable for issue monitoring, strategic planning, and global communication management of international commerce and public affairs issues.

He has worked with C-suite executives, board members, and senior staff trade association leadership to develop key messaging and talking points, conduct government testimony preparation, media training and engagement advice, craft issue briefs and economic white papers, compose press releases, and ghostwrite opinion editorials.

He has managed in-house teams and outside vendors to execute internal and external high-frequency communication efforts utilizing the web, email, audio, video, social media, paid media, custom content, magazines, press conferences, and events.

Ross' work in government relations and international policy has allowed him to work on many diverse public policy issues, such as global climate change, national energy policy, natural resource management, auto retailing, intellectual property, technology antitrust and competition, the NATO 50th Anniversary Summit, US-China commercial relations, and international trade.

His experience working with several startups and entrepreneurs has also allowed him to provide expertise and guidance on marketing, business development, finance, and strategy.

Ross has an MBA with an emphasis on global commerce from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.

He is the founder of Caracal, a political intelligence firm working with CEOs of multinational companies to demystify how global politics shape and influence international trade, commercial relations, economic diplomacy, and global business, and the founder of Brigadoon, a global network of entrepreneurs and independent thinkers looking to make deeper connections and better understand the emerging issues shaping commerce and culture.

He also served as an adjunct professor at George Washington University, teaching a course on globalization and American politics, and was the communications director for the US-China Business Council.

Ross is a frequent speaker, commentator, writer, and interviewee on all matters of economic diplomacy, global commerce, multi-stakeholder communications, marketing, advocacy, and political campaigns.

He has been a guest speaker at Wisconsin's School of Business, Johns Hopkins University, Georgetown University, the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Utah State's Huntsman School of Business, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
