Chris Malan

Chris Malan has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. Chris began their career in 2001 as a Program Engineer Manager for Pontiac GTO at GM Holden, where they were responsible for leading the team to re-engineer the Holden Monaro to meet North American requirements. In 2005, they joined Holden as Director of Engineering Operations and System Management Teams, leading a team of up to 80 professionals to deliver components and systems for locally produced vehicle programs. Chris also served as Leader of the Holden Target Operating Model (TOM) Team, which was responsible for transitioning the Holden business to a National Sales Centre (NSC) by 2018. In addition, they were Director of Pre-Production, Validation & Business Operations, and Chief Engineer of Proving Ground, Test Labs & Pre-Production Operations. From 2018 to 2021, they were self-employed as a Consultant. Currently, they are the National Sales Operations Manager and Manager of Operational Excellence at Carbar.

Chris Malan attended Monash University from 1984 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical.
