David Lee

David Lee is a seasoned scientific advisor and lead scientist with extensive experience in advancing bio-based carbon removal technologies and agricultural resilience. Currently serving as a Scientific Advisor at Carbon Direct, David provides technical insights on investment opportunities in carbon offset technologies. At Booz Allen Hamilton, David holds the position of Senior Lead Scientist, contributing to the Department of Energy's ARPA-E programs, including ROOTS and SMARTFARM, which focus on improving soil carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas emission assessments. Previously, David held various roles at Edenspace Systems Corporation, leading molecular biology efforts and managing intellectual property while developing biofuel-enhanced plants. An accomplished mentor, David has also guided start-ups and accelerator programs in technology commercialization and market assessments. David earned a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from UC San Diego and a BS in Biology from Harvey Mudd College.
