Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Type: Full-time permanent

Role Overview: Planning, procurement and execution of projects; manages engineering team; reports to the CEO
Responsibilities
Managing routine engineering meetings and overseeing task management and completion within the internal engineering team and associated consultants and contractors,
Oversee project engineering initiatives such as preparing execution/management plans, tracking project progress, and reviewing field work completed,
Analysing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different team members,
Technically adept and well-versed in language around process, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering to liaise effectively with associated contractors,
Ensuring that all engineering and manufacturing processes are in keeping with the health and safety regulations of the state/province and the country
EPC management, monitor progress, and implement project controls
Responsible for conflict resolution and timeliness of project deliverables pertaining to selected vendors and contractors
Supervising engineering team and making appropriate recommendations for improvement
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget; use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Ensure resource availability and allocation; building out a rounded engineering team
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including routine SOPs, as deemed necessary,
Report to executive team on engineering progress on a weekly basis
Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders,
Perform risk management to minimize project risks,
Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing project budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
Qualifications
Registered professional engineer (P.Eng); CAPM, PMP, P.E. is preferred but not required.
Experience managing projects over $3-10 MM CAPEX on tight timelines
Experience working with and managing EPC firms
Hands-on experience in being a tactical project manager with close involvement in various project task families, with particular exposure to civil, electrical, permitting, and mechanical engineering,
Experience working with/at cement plants and with solid material handling is preferred
5+ years of experience in mechanical equipment design, operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting with exposure to one or more of the following areas:
Pneumatic material conveying systems
Pressurized fluids, vessels, piping systems
Rotating equipment such as large gearbox systems and bearings
Convective and conductive heat transfer with complex heat generation modes
Strong understanding of process instrumentation, basic electrical assemblies (motors, relays, overload protection, VFDs), and hydraulic fundamentals.
Strong ability to create a project action plan, take charge and direct resources to realize technical implementations from inception to completion
Experience as a project administrator
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, written and verbal communication skills
Key non-technical attributes we look for include self-awareness, ability to prioritize and delegate, and high performance in dynamically changing environments
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Preference for having a good understanding or have implemented designs per North America and international codes including, but are not limited to ASME Section VIII, ASTM B31.3, ASME B16, and CSA C22.1
