Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in Calgary, AB. This role involves working on engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, along with experience in project management and field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform engineering design evaluations to ensure technical feasibility and compliance with project objectives, schedules, and budgets.
Review industry policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Analyze production, malfunction, and maintenance reports to identify and address technical or operational problems.
Provide expertise to support engineering processes and resolve technical challenges.
Develop, implement, and communicate detailed operational plans for project completion, including engineering designs and work specifications.
Identify, develop, and coordinate resources, including materials and equipment, required to complete projects efficiently.
Monitor project progress and performance against plans, taking proactive actions to address operational issues and minimize delays.
Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Work closely with project teams, EPC firms, and field operations to achieve project objectives and ensure smooth execution.
Oversee processes for engineering change requests (ECR) and engineering change orders (ECO) to maintain project and design integrity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng). CAPM, PMP, or P.E. certification is preferred but not required.
Minimum of four years in project management, project engineering, or project planning (scope, schedule, cost, quality).
Experience with cement plants, solid material handling, and working with field operations is preferred.
Familiarity with EPC firm collaborations.
Knowledge of compliance and quality assurance best practices.
Experience with engineering change management processes (ECR/ECO).
Strong client-facing and internal communication abilities, both written and verbal.
Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking capabilities, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25%.
