Coenraad Vrolijk founded CarbonPool in 2022 and currently holds the role of Founder. Coenraad is also an Advisory Board Member at HCS Capital since October 2022. From 2015 to 2022, they served as the Regional CEO Africa at Allianz, overseeing approximately 20 subsidiaries and serving as a board member. Coenraad was a Board Member at (MILVIK) BIMA and African Reinsurance Corporation from 2018 to 2021, serving on various committees. Prior to that, Coenraad Vrolijk was the CEO of Rosewood Insurance Group in 2013 and a Managing Director at BlackRock from 2011 to 2013. Coenraad started their career at McKinsey & Company and served as a Partner from 1997 to 2010.
Coenraad Vrolijk completed their high school education at UWC Atlantic College from 1987 to 1989. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Computing, and Statistics at the University of Bath from 1989 to 1992. Coenraad continued their studies at Brown University, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Economics from 1992 to 1994. Later, they completed their education at Brown University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economics from 1992 to 1996.
