Ben O'Connell

Ben O'Connell is an experienced professional in sports management, currently serving as the Director of Sport at Cardiff Metropolitan University since September 2018 and as the Head of Business Services at the University of Glasgow since November 2016, where responsibilities include strategic development across marketing, financial planning, and customer engagement. Prior experience includes a decade at Active Stirling, where Ben O'Connell held roles such as Head of Operations and Performance Sport Manager, focusing on facility development and event organization. Earlier in their career, Ben O'Connell worked as a Team Leader and Sports Development Officer, promoting access to sports and physical activities in local communities. Ben O'Connell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Sport Studies from the University of Stirling, completed in 2004.
