Gareth McNarry

Gareth McNarry is an accomplished professional in sport coaching and education, currently serving as the Invictus Team UK Lead Swimming Coach for the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, while also fulfilling the role of Lecturer in Sport Coaching at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Since January 2022, Gareth has been mentoring coaches through the Premier League's coach development programs. Previous significant positions include Performance Development & Para-Swimming Lead at Loughborough University, where Gareth created a world-class training environment, and working as a research assistant and dual PhD student focused on competitive swimming experiences at both the University of Lincoln and the University of Copenhagen. Notable earlier roles include part-time positions in fitness coaching and physical education, along with experience in performance coaching and coach education with Swim Wales. Gareth holds dual PhDs in Sport from the University of Copenhagen and the University of Lincoln, as well as degrees in Sports Development and Coaching from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
