Matt is currently serving as the Head of the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University, where they oversee the strategic direction of the school, its teaching, research, and social impact. Most recently, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Journalism at City, University of London from 2015 to 2022. In addition, they obtained certifications as a Fellow from the Higher Education Academy in 2016 and as an Associate Fellow from The Higher Education Academy in September 2015.
