Masuma Begum has a strong background in education and youth work. Masuma started as a Teaching Assistant in the Summer Youth Employment Program in 2016 and 2018. Masuma then moved on to roles such as Peer Mentor at BMCC I.M.P.A.C.T. Peer Mentoring Program, Senator at BMCC Student Government Association, Youth Worker/Counselor at BronxWorks, and currently serves as a Head Start Lead Teacher at Cardinal McCloskey Community Services. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a commitment to mentoring, leadership development, and event organization.
Masuma Begum began their education at Borough of Manhattan Community College from 2017 to 2019, studying Liberal Arts. Masuma then pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College from 2019 to 2021. In 2018, they obtained a certification in Creating a Keynote Presentation from Lynda.com.
