Ben Mesander

Ben Mesander has a strong background in engineering and software development, with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Ben currently serves as the Director of Application Engineering at Cardinal Peak, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they were the VP of Software Development at eVisit from 2021 to 2023.

Before joining Cardinal Peak and eVisit, Ben worked at Wowza Media Systems as the VP of Engineering from 2019 to 2021. In this role, they led product development and successfully improved the time to release by 10x.

From 2015 to 2019, Ben held senior leadership positions at Comcast, including Senior Director of the IP VOD Engineering Group and Senior Director of the Comcast VIPER Content Origination Group. During their time at Comcast, they managed teams responsible for developing video-on-demand, cloud DVR, and linear origin servers.

Prior to their tenure at Comcast, Ben was the Chief Engineer & Partner at Cardinal Peak LLC from 2006 to 2015. Ben designed and delivered technical solutions in the digital video/audio and embedded systems space. Ben also worked as a Manager at Rocky Mountain Railway LLC from 2004 to 2011.

Ben started their career as an Independent Consultant from 2000 to 2007, where they worked on various projects including porting x86 assembly, developing a Linux distribution, and working on the installer in Python and GTK. Ben also worked at Timing Solutions Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer from 2001 to 2006, developing embedded firmware for high precision time and frequency systems.

Earlier in their career, Ben was a Partner at Creative Concepts Corporation from 1997 to 2001, where they led the implementation of Java and web-based solutions for enterprise document management and web content management. Ben also worked at IBM as an Advisory Engineer from 1995 to 1997.

Overall, Ben Mesander has a diverse range of experience in engineering and software development, as well as strong leadership and management skills.

Ben Mesander attended the University of Oklahoma from 1984 to 1989, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
