Michelle L. Gilgannon

Faculty, Religious Studies at Cardinal Stritch University

Michelle Gilgannon is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Coordinator of the University's Concurrent Enrollment Program which partners with area high schools to offer college courses to high achieving high school students. She received her B.A. in 1992 from Alverno College, where she majored in English, Secondary Education and Theatre. She received her M.A. in Religious Studies from Cardinal Stritch University in 2004 and her Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Duquesne University in 2011. Her dissertation was on the liturgical theology of Aidan Kavanagh, OSB. She teaches numerous general systematics courses at Cardinal Stritch, including moral theology and ethics, comparative world religions, health care ethics, Catholic Social Teaching and introduction to Christian thought. Special areas of interest include World Religions, Christian anthropology, Trinitarian theology, Franciscan intellectual tradition and the intersection of contemporary issues and religious thought.
