Head of Intellectual Property at Cardior

Dipl. Biol. Barbara Gärtner-Rupprecht has had a long and varied career in the scientific field. Dipl. Biol. Barbara began their professional career in 1998 as a Scientific Assistant at the Kinderklink der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, where they researched the genetic causes of the Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome and a related early-childhood kidney tumor. In 2004, they moved to the University of Queensland as a Laboratory Assistant, where they analyzed human tissue for methylation changes in tumor cells. In 2007, they became a Project Member at the Universität Potsdam Lehrstuhl Betriebswirtschaftslehre, where they were responsible for the conception and implementation of postgraduate education programs for entrepreneurs. In 2010, they moved to Stiftung pearls Potsdam Research Network as Deputy General Manager, where they were responsible for project management, communication, third-party funding, event conception and execution, and conference organization. In 2013, they returned to the Universität Hildesheim as a Project Coordinator and Scientific Assistant, where they developed and implemented new target-oriented event formats for student orientation, such as workshop days, information events, and exhibitions. Finally, in 2017, they joined Cardior Pharmaceuticals GmbH as Manager of Intellectual Property and Assistant to the General Manager. In 2022, they were promoted to Head of Intellectual Property at Cardior Pharmaceuticals.

Dipl. Biol. Barbara Gärtner-Rupprecht began their education in 1994 at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, where they earned a Diplom Biologin in the field of Molekularbiologie, Humangenetik. Dipl. Biol. Barbara then continued their studies at the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, where they earned a Master of Science - MS in Biomedizinische Wissenschaften, allgemein in 2017.
