Nameera Nuzhat has a diverse range of work experience. Nameera started their career as a research assistant at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2010, where they conducted extensive research and analysis. Nameera then worked as an intern at the Social Innovation lab, BRAC in 2012. Nuzhat also worked at UNDP as a consultant and project manager in 2012 and as a research consultant in 2015.
In 2013, Nuzhat joined Music for Development as a strategy manager, focusing on research, fundraising, and managing partnerships. Nameera then worked as an evaluation consultant at MEASURE Evaluation and as a research coordinator consultant at UNICEF in 2015.
From 2015 to 2018, Nuzhat worked at the New York City Council as a senior financial and legislative analyst. Their responsibilities included reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring the fiscal budgets of New York City agencies HRA and DHS. Nameera tracked spending, revenues, contractual spending, and capital project planning.
Currently, Nuzhat holds leadership positions at Care For the Homeless, starting as the Director, Project Planning in 2018 and then transitioning to Director of Operations and Project Planning in January 2020.
Nameera Nuzhat completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a specialization in Economic Development from Columbia University. Nameera attended Columbia University from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from North South University. The exact start and end years for their bachelor's degree are not provided. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Protecting Human Research Subjects from Columbia University in the City of New York in March 2013.
