Megan Garrett

Megan Garrett, APR has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Megan currently holds the position of Director of Communications at Care Initiatives since January 2024. Prior to this, they worked as Co-Owner of Heartland Handcrafted starting from March 2017. From September 2021 to January 2024, Megan served as the Public Relations Manager at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Sr. Communications Specialist at Trilix from March 2019 to September 2021, and as the Corporate Communications & Media Relations Manager at Iowa Student Loan from September 2014 to March 2019. Megan also gained experience as a Public Relations Specialist at Lake Regional Health System from August 2013 to September 2014, and in television and internet marketing at KRCG from March 2012 to August 2013. Before transitioning into communications, Megan held the position of Managing Editor at GateHouse Media from February 2010 to March 2012. Megan began their career in 2000 as a Certified Swing Manager at McDonald's Restaurant.

Megan Garrett, APR graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism/Visual Journalism. Megan also holds the Accreditation in Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
