Alison Porter is an experienced programme manager with over two decades in healthcare regulation and management. Currently serving at the Care Quality Commission since December 2010, Alison leads programme management efforts in developing and implementing a new regulatory framework for acute NHS and independent hospitals in England. Prior roles include Senior Project Manager at the Healthcare Commission, where Alison oversaw the digital publication of NHS annual health checks, and Team Leader, managing a team of analysts to identify high-risk health providers. Earlier experience includes positions as Senior Analyst at the Commission for Health Improvement and Business Manager at St George's Hospital NHS Trust, alongside roles in research at leading NHS facilities. Alison holds an MBA in Strategy from the Open University and degrees in Animal Parasitology and Zoology from the University of Wales, Bangor, and Bristol University, respectively.
