Career Team is looking to hire an enthusiastic Job Developer to provide job development/job placement services for our TANF and Choices program VIPs (these are our Very Important Participants). In this role, the selected candidate also perform quality checks of program's documentation. This is a part-time assignment, working up to 25 hours per week. This temporary position will end on or before September 30, 2024.

Job Development Duties:

  • Perform professional work providing career assessment, career counseling, and employment services to include job development and job referrals;
  • Work with Employment Services staff and job posting system to identify available employment opportunities;
  • Counsel potential applicants on available job opportunities;
  • Provide job development for individual Choices applicants as needed/appropriate;
  • Work with Choices customers / Choices applicants by providing career counseling, employment assessment, career management, and job attainment / retention coaching;
  • Document services provided using program approved tools and record activities in the Work in Texas Case Management System as appropriate;
  • Serve as placement liaison, communicating placement progress and providing appropriate documentation to the assigned Choices Case Manager;
  • Track job search outcomes and provide coaching as needed to assure timely and successful employment outcomes as well as retention;

Quality Duties:

  • Reviews files and online CMS system to ensure proper implementation of all Choices policies, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Performs data management and reporting duties as needed in support of program operations;
  • Provides insight based upon observations for the purpose of improving processes to ensure program and service quality;
  • Assists with Quality Assurance reviews as needed;
  • Works with members of the management team on projects as needed to identify operational needs;
  • Remains compliant with all policy updates and training to ensure up-to-date knowledge of processes and procedures;
  • Complies with audit guidelines and other processes to assure case quality;
  • Provides outstanding internal Customer Service;
  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with private/sensitive issues and information;

The Ideal Qualifications Include:

  • Education:  Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent relevant work experience or a combination of 4 years’ qualifying education plus relevant work experience.
  • Two years of work experience combining elements of training, placement, quality, counseling, case management or other services;
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings with culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive;
  • Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them towards achieving goals;
  • Professional demeanor and ability to understand the needs of the Employer customer;
  • Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives;
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills and communication skills, both oral and written required;
  • Bilingual individuals preferred.

Hourly Wage: $25/hour

Job Type: Part-time, temporary assignment, working up to 25 hours per week.

Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional travel to other locations within the East Texas service area.
