James Poss M.D./Mph

James Poss MD/MPH, FACS has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. James currently serves as the Medical Director at CarelonRx since June 2022. Previously, they worked as the Medical Director at BCBS Western New York Medicaid from June 2019 to January 2023. Prior to that, Dr. Poss worked as a Medical Consultant at the NYS Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance from August 2017 to June 2019. James also served as an Otolaryngologist at Buffalo Medical Group from June 2015 to June 2019. In addition to these roles, Dr. Poss worked as a Physician Reviewer at various companies including MLS Group of Companies, RRS, Advanced Medical Reviews, and MES Solutions from 2017 to 2019. Before that, they worked as an Otolaryngologist at Southwest ENT Consultants from November 2012 to June 2015, and at William Beaumont Army Medical Center from July 2009 to July 2013.

James Poss MD/MPH, FACS has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Cellular Molecular Biology from Humboldt State University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1998. James then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine from 2000 to 2004. Continuing their education, they completed a Master's of Public Health in Health Services Administration at the University at Buffalo's School of Public Health and Health Professions from 2016 to 2017. Lastly, they obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Public Health Practice from the University at Albany School of Public Health between 2017 and 2019.
