Chelsea Mendoza

Patient Care Assistant at CareYaya

Chelsea Mendoza has worked as a Patient Care Assistant at CareYaya since January 2023. Prior to this, they had a research internship at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University from August 2020 to June 2021. During their internship, they co-authored an article on the impact of cardiac fibroblasts on cardiac fibrosis patients with COVID-19. The article was published and featured in the ECU BSOM July newsletter. Additionally, they had another research internship at UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy from June 2020 to July 2020, where they worked with Denise H. Rhoney on a scoping review article about Augmented Renal Clearance in the Critically Ill Oncology Patient Population.

Chelsea Mendoza pursued their education starting from 2017 to 2021, where they obtained a high school diploma in General Studies from South Central High School. Following their high school education, from 2019 to 2021, Chelsea attended both Pitt Community College and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, earning another high school diploma in General Studies. Subsequently, they enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2021 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with majors in Biology, General, and Medical Anthropology. Additionally, in June 2023, Chelsea obtained a BLS/CPR Certification from the American BLS institution.
