Tara Roemke

Vice President of Global Merchandising at Carhartt

Tara Roemke has a diverse work experience in the field of merchandising and management. Tara is currently working as the Vice President Mens Global Merchandising and CCG at Carhartt since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Ariat International, where they held two roles. From March 2010 to September 2019, they were the Sr. Director Global Product Management Apparel, responsible for developing and leading a high-performing merchandising team. From September 2019 to June 2023, they served as the Vice President Apparel Merchandising, overseeing growth expectations and direction in various product categories.

Before joining Ariat International, Tara worked at Levi Strauss as the Director of Women's Merchandising from February 2008 to January 2010. Tara achieved double-digit sales comps and increased gross profit through effective management of a diverse merchandising team. Tara also introduced innovative products, such as the Totally Slimming Jeans, which significantly increased sales at Wal-mart. Prior to this role, they held the position of Sr Merchant Women's at Levi Strauss and Co from April 2006 to February 2008. During this time, they led the development of a three-year business plan, implemented a new Go To Market Process, and established the Signature Women's line as an innovation leader.

Tara also has experience working at Gap Inc, where they served as the Sr. Merchant Baby from August 2004 to April 2006. Tara successfully developed and implemented strategies to capitalize on existing businesses and presented departmental strategies to Gap Outlet leadership. Prior to this, they worked at Gap Outlet Girl's as an Assistant Merchant from March 2003 to August 2004, where they assisted in the development of departmental and divisional strategies, established pricing and promotional strategies, and assorted key departments based on sales history and market trends.

Earlier in their career, Tara worked at Mervyn's as a Sr Business Analyst from August 2001 to March 2003. Tara played a significant role in the launch of a Petite line and acted as a mentor and trainer to other analysts.

Tara Roemke attended Indiana University from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Tara completed their studies at Indiana University Bloomington, specializing in the field of Marketing.
