Matthias Freese

Matthias Freese is a Senior System Development Engineer specializing in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving at CARIAD since February 2023. Previously, Matthias held the position of Senior Application Engineer for Automotive Photonics Development at TE Connectivity, where the focus was on developing an automotive camera application platform. At PHOENIX CONTACT, Matthias worked as an Embedded Software Engineer, engaging in hardware and software test automation for tunnel lighting ECUs and developing controllers for building automation applications. Matthias also has extensive experience from IAV as a Team Manager in Motion Planning, overseeing development teams and managing projects in trajectory planning, alongside prior roles as a Development Engineer. Earlier experience includes academic positions at Technische Universität Dresden and internships at RWE Power AG and Finsterwalder Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH. Matthias holds a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Automation Engineering from Technische Universität Dresden.
