Xi Wu, Ph.D., currently serves as a Research Scientist II at Caris Life Sciences since February 2022. Previously, Xi Wu held the position of Research Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine from October 2013 to January 2022, where research focused on genetic variations in chemotherapy-induced toxicities as part of the Vera Bradley Monogrammed Medicine Fellowship. During a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Hiromi Tanaka's laboratory, Xi Wu developed a non-invasive assay for the early detection of breast cancer related to telomere dysfunction. Earlier academic work included a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Indiana University School of Medicine, where doctoral research concentrated on the role of fatty acid synthase in cancer cell resistance to chemotherapeutics. An undergraduate research assistant position at the China-Japan Research Institute of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences involved studying the interplay between autophagy and apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells.
