Ajinkya Pattekar

Scientist II. Translational Sciences at Carisma Therapeutics

Ajinkya Pattekar has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Ajinkya is currently working as a Scientist II in the Translational Sciences department at Carisma Therapeutics since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine from 2017 to 2023, where they held multiple roles including Scientific Research Manager in the Immune Health Project and Research Technologist in the same project. In these roles, they developed and optimized immunological assays, designed protocols for isolating cells, and processed patient samples for scientific research.

Before joining the University of Pennsylvania, Ajinkya worked at Drexel University College of Medicine. From 2016 to 2017, they served as a Research Assistant, where they conducted preclinical testing of immunotherapy for HTLV-1 induced diseases and performed IHC staining on mouse tissue sections. Ajinkya also worked as a Research Intern at Drexel University from 2014 to 2016, assisting with preclinical projects focused on vaccines for Clostridium Difficile and clinical research projects involving specimen processing, cell culture, and small animal procedures.

Ajinkya's work experience also includes serving as an Extern at GMC and Sir JJ Group Of Hospitals in Mumbai from 2012 to 2013. Overall, they have gained expertise in immunology, cell biology, and clinical research through their varied roles in academic and industry settings.

Ajinkya Pattekar earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine from Smolensk State Medical Academy, where they studied from 2005 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Immunology from Drexel University College of Medicine from 2014 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, Ajinkya Pattekar holds a Medical Registration Certificate from the Medical Council of India, obtained in October 2013, and has completed a course titled "Introduction to the principles and practice of Clinical Research" offered by The National Institutes of Health in June 2020.
