Jake Dunnicliff has held a variety of roles since 2014. From 2014-2018, they were a Student Associate at Mt. San Antonio College, a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, and a Lead Mechanic at Bowlero Corporation. In 2020, they joined Software Engineering Applications as an Application Store - Back End Engineer and a Rental Application - Front End Engineer. In 2021, they started working as a Support Engineer at Carma Project, Inc. During their time as an Application Store - Back End Engineer, they optimized the backend with Postgres to handle heavy user loads and large datasets, reduced response times by 45% by load balancing multiple services with nginx, and created server-side caching for frequently used items achieving a 162% increase of RPS. As a Rental Application - Front End Engineer, they built a dynamically populated reservation calendar with MariaDB and Express backend, developed a module with responsive design, allowing better mobile functionality and visuals, and integrated four modules into a proxy server of the full item page for a cohesive UX.
