We are currently seeking an Art Director to join our team!

  

Summary of Job 

We are looking for an art director who will be responsible for the visual direction and execution of creative campaigns in various mediums including TV/OLV, social, digital, print, media and experiential. They will also be responsible for working with writers and integrated teams on generating ideas and concepts and executing campaigns via digital production, social, print photoshoots, film shoots and experiential. Our next art director must have a sound grasp of social and production. They will need to have excellent communication and world-building skills, translating creative direction on any given project across all departments involved. Lastly, our next art director must be self-driven, detail-oriented, collaborative and constantly pushing their skillset while working with creative directors and others to learn to expand and refine their craft. They will embody, join and uphold our company mission through their creative work, strategic thinking and partnership with teams. Come Together, Stand Apart.  


Essential Functions/Principal Accountabilities of the Job 

  1. Day-to-day responsibilities of the art director include but are not limited to:
  • Play a central and energetic role on the creative side of assigned accounts, taking responsibility for major campaigns and brand communications including (but not limited to) video, digital, social, experiential and print in collaboration with writers, prioritizing craft and execution that is in line with client brand, tone/voice, objectives and big-picture business goals.
  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned client businesses with guidance from your creative directors, account management, social strategy and brand planning teams. 
  • Has great taste and excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with creative directors, account management, brand planning, project management, social strategy, the director of creative operations and partnered copywriters to ensure project success.
  • Actively ideates and pitches integrated campaign ideas for designated client(s) to creative directors.
  • Actively participates in the ad community by attending seminars, volunteering for CL-sponsored events and referring their best and brightest creative peers to the agency.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to Carmichael Lynch’s culture by attending company-wide events, jumping at opportunities to celebrate your colleagues and maintaining a positive, inclusive, all-in attitude.

Note: These are the major functions and accountabilities required of the position and are the predominant criteria by which performance will be assessed. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

Working Relationships, Autonomy and Supervision

The art director must interact with and effectively collaborate with all personnel of Carmichael Lynch. For this role, you will regularly work with the following teams: creative, project management, account management, social strategy, brand planning, PR, production, studio and Content Lab. 

Management/project oversight comes from creative director(s) and/or group creative director.

Assigned projects come from director of creative operations.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  1. Education:
    1. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in advertising, visual art or a closely related field.
  1. Skills and Experience:
    1. A minimum of 3-4 years of experience and a portfolio that makes creatives do a double-take.
    2. Mid-level client contact experience is required.
    3. Strong leadership abilities are a must.
    4. An affinity for disruptive social is welcomed.
    5. Production experience is celebrated.
    6. Association with highly awarded creative output is prioritized.
