Yi Zeng

Yi Zeng is a prominent academic and leader in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), currently serving as a Professor at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where Yi Zeng also directs the Brain-inspired Cognitive Intelligence Lab and the International Research Center for AI Ethics and Governance. As Director of the Center for Long-term Artificial Intelligence, Yi Zeng focuses on the societal and ecological impacts of AI, exploring areas such as AI ethics, governance, and safety. Yi Zeng is a member of the UN Secretary General's High-level Advisory Body on AI and a Senior Fellow at the UN Institute for Disarmament Research, concentrating on AI for peace and security. Additionally, Yi Zeng contributes as an expert to UNESCO and the World Health Organization on AI ethics and governance initiatives, advises Schwarzman Scholars, and holds advisory roles at the University of Oxford and the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.
