Lucas Fluegel

Lucas Fluegel is a Visiting Scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, with extensive experience in scientific research and policy development. Previous roles include Graduate Research Assistant at Scripps Research, where involvement focused on natural product biosynthesis, mechanistic enzymology, and microbial genomics, as well as leadership positions such as Policy Project Team Lead for the Paragon Policy Fellowship, guiding efforts on language accessibility in Saint Louis. Lucas has contributed to the U.S. Department of State as a Virtual Student Federal Service Intern, investigated emerging technology trends, and served as a copyeditor for the Journal of Emerging Investigators and as a technical aide at 3M. Educational background includes a PhD in Chemical and Biological Science from Scripps Research and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota.
