Martha Higgins currently serves as the Library Director at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a position held since August 2019. In January 2024, Martha worked as a Fulbright Specialist with the National Library of Kosovo, focusing on developing research services programs for public and university libraries. Previous roles include Training Specialist at EBSCO Industries, Inc. and GOBI from August 2017 to July 2019, Research and Instruction Librarian at the College of William and Mary from 2008 to 2017, Medical Librarian at St. Peter's Hospital for a brief period in 2008, and Social Sciences Reference Librarian at Old Dominion University from 2004 to 2007. Early in the career, Martha also worked as an English Teacher from 1997 to 2000. Martha holds a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland and a Master's degree in History from the University at Albany, as well as completing graduate classes in International Relations at Virginia Tech.
