Brazil Leader at The Salvation Army

Edward Horwood is the current Brazil Leader at The Salvation Army. Prior to this, they were the Program Coordinator for Entrepreneurship and Empowerment in South Africa (EESA) at the University of Florida - Warrington College of Business. In this role, they coordinated the university program whereby business students who are trained as consultants partner with historically disadvantaged entrepreneurs to improve their small businesses. Edward also interviewed 25 student consultants and 100 entrepreneurs for participation in the program, managed the program budget and logistics of 65 student consultants and 22 emerging enterprises, arranged the logistics of transport to ensure that consultants and entrepreneurs met regularly, provided ongoing assistance and support to consultants in their analysis of small businesses and their deliverables, and developed a monitoring system to track the progress of the entrepreneurs after completion of the EESA program.

Before their work with EESA, Edward was a Small Enterprise Consultant with Sisonke Consulting Group. In this role, they provided consulting services to small businesses in order to help them grow and expand. Edward also worked as a Project Officer for The Salvation Army, where they were responsible for managing and implementing projects that supported the organization's mission.
